Code Space is a short experimental film drawing on concepts of space from critical geographers—such as David Harvey, Edward Soja, Rob Kitchin, Martin Dodge, and Henri Lefebvre—to develop a sensory and phenomenological study of the Google Data Center in The Dalles, Oregon. With the goal of provoking reflection on the unintentional and often invisible infrastructure of the Internet, the film addresses the Google Data Center, recontextualizing it in comparison to its historical and non-human environment.
